Cancer Council Victoria is committed to improving outcomes for people diagnosed with less common and low survival cancers. The Forgotten Cancers Project is part of our  Forgotten Cancers Program and is run by Cancer Council Victoria.  It aims to build a research resource of epidemiological and genetic data to assist in learning more about the causes, and risk factors for less common cancers.

The Forgotten Cancers Project ceased recruitment in late 2016.  4,213 people agreed to participate in the study; 2,699 with a diagnosis of a less common cancer, and 1,514 family members (either sibling or spouse) as a comparison.

If you are interested in accessing the data for research purposes, learning more about the project's background, participation term, research outcomes and publications, or accessing additional resources for information and support for less common cancers, please explore the tabs at the top of this page.
